DLS Bake Sale Supports Lewy Body Dementia Research | Arlington VA

Ahead of the 3rd Annual DLS 5k (happening this Saturday, August 22), the DLS community gathered at our Rosslyn office for a bake sale! Funds from this Bake Sale and race registrations benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

A Global Spread from the DLS Community

The turnout was remarkable. Staff filled the tables with homemade treats drawn from the many cultures and cuisines we work in every day. Japanese onigiri in plum, tuna-mayo, and salmon; matcha bars; fresh berry tarts and fruit pastries; and savory tomato, caramelized onion, and goat cheese tarts, among much more. The range on offer was a fitting reflection of the languages and cultures at the heart of the DLS mission.

This year’s sale is on track to raise significantly more than last year’s. A testament to the generosity and talent of our community!

Why We Support the Lewy Body Dementia Association

Lewy body dementia is a progressive brain disorder and the second most common type of dementia after Alzheimer’s disease, yet it remains widely underrecognized. Proceeds from both the bake sale and Saturday’s race support the Lewy Body Dementia Association’s work in research, education, and support for families affected by the disease.
