On Wednesday, October 19th, 2022, a dedicated team gathered for the DLS Adopt a Highway clean-up initiative. Along our designated section of Route 50, they collected 14 bags of trash in just a few hours.
Over eight years ago, we adopted a two-mile stretch of Route 50, from N. Pershing Dr. to N. Henderson Rd. Since then, we’ve organized biannual clean-ups to maintain the area’s cleanliness and beauty. Our volunteers typically collect between 9 and 18 bags of trash, making a visible difference in our community.
This event is a crucial part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, promoting employee engagement in volunteering for charitable causes. Our aspiration is to inspire more individuals to contribute their time and energy each year, fostering stronger community ties and environmental stewardship.
As DeAnn Hollis said, “The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” Let’s continue making a difference together.
