On Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 a team of DLS staff members banded together for the DLS Adopt a Highway clean-up! After a few hours outside on our portion of Route 50, we collected a total of 14 bags of trash.
We adopted two miles of Rt 50, from N. Pershing Dr. to N. Henderson Rd, over eight years ago. Ever since then, we commit to hosting the DLS Adopt a Highway Clean-Up twice a year to keep the area nice and clean. We usually collect anywhere from 9 to 18 bags of trash, which always make a noticeable difference.
This event contributes to our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, which encourages all employees to volunteer their time to charitable causes. Our hope is each year, we’ll have more people willing to contribute their time to help our community!
“The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” DeAnn Hollis.
