On Saturday, August 23, Diplomatic Language Services hosted the second annual DLS 5K for Lewy Body Dementia at Bon Air Park & Rose Gardens in Arlington, VA. The event brought together runners, walkers, volunteers, and supporters to raise awareness and funds for the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA).
We are thrilled to share that this year’s race drew 150 participants, nearly doubling last year’s turnout of 82! Together, we raised over $8,000 to benefit LBDA. The energy, enthusiasm, and generosity of our community made this a truly memorable day.
From the start line to the finish, participants showed their commitment not only to fitness and fun, but also to supporting a cause that touches countless families. Proceeds from the event will go directly to LBDA to advance research and provide vital support resources.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, staff, and community partners. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, including Larmax Homes, for their generous support.
The DLS 5K is more than just a race, it’s a growing tradition of coming together to make a difference. We look forward to building on this year’s success and welcoming even more participants in 2026!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the starting line, cheered along the course, or supported virtually. Together, we are raising awareness and hope for those affected by Lewy Body Dementia.
