Tips for Using Quizlet AI for Language Study
  1. As a language instructor, here are some ways to leverage Quizlet’s AI features. Vocabulary study is a great option for semi-autonomous or homework assignments, since reviewing new words at one’s own pace is a solo endeavor.
  2. Tell students to create a set of flashcards for each new textbook chapter. The process of inputting vocabulary and/or looking through the words will cause them to review the new information.
  3. Have students practice certain vocabulary by conversing about a particular topic with Qchat. You could assign a goal of 10 minutes per day.
  4. Invite students to play Quizlet’s matching game and try to beat their own time. In a group class, you could make it competitive to see who can get the best time.
  5. Guide students to upload their class notes to Quizlet’s Magic Notes and have the tool transform the content into flashcards.
  6. Have students self-assess their learning by quizzing themselves on flashcards and generating practice tests about their flashcard sets.
  7. Extend learning by planning class activities that use vocabulary students have recently studied through Quizlet. This could be during the warm-up or just coming back from a break. The instructor providing exposure over and over again to new words is key for language acquisition, and a normal part of students’ learning process.
