On October 15, 2025, a team of ten DLS volunteers gathered for our fall Adopt-a-Highway cleanup. The group spent the morning collecting litter and debris along our adopted stretch of roadway in Arlington. They enjoyed clear skies and crisp fall weather while making a visible difference in the community.
This event is one of two annual cleanups DLS holds through the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Adopt-a-Highway program. Each spring and fall, DLS employees volunteer their time to maintain a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for our neighbors. Our team takes pride in being part of this ongoing effort. We recognize the importance of caring for our local environment and minimizing our environmental impact.
The Adopt-a-Highway program allows local organizations like DLS to play a direct role in preserving the beauty of Virginia’s roadways. While picking up litter might seem like a small task, the impact is significant. Every piece of trash collected helps protect wildlife, prevent pollution, and create a better experience for everyone who lives and works in the area.
This initiative is part of DLS’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility plan. This plan reflects our commitment to our community, our employees, and the environment. Through volunteer projects, charitable partnerships, and sustainability efforts, we strive to make a positive contribution beyond our daily work in language and culture.
We are grateful to our team of volunteers who made time to participate in this year’s cleanup. Their dedication and teamwork show what it means to be part of DLS’s community-focused mission. Thank you for helping keep Arlington beautiful!
